Emily's interest in music goes back to her childhood in Tehran and ultimately became a passion for classical and jazz music. She is based out of the Los Angeles area, but has traveled the world. Her career of playing piano and singing professionally follows her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Cal State Northridge and mentorship under Shardad Rohani (classical), Tamir Hendelman (jazz), Jane Monheit (vocals), and others. Her various ensembles have played at local clubs and concert halls, as well as fairs, festivals, school assemblies, and special events.
Her greatest joy, however, comes from teaching and watching her students’ growth in their skill and confidence through studying piano with her. While teaching piano, Emily emphasizes foundational piano technique from the beginning, along with general musicianship. Her teaching style incorporates general musical concepts, encouraging creativity and imagination with her pupils.
